Most of our day was spent sailing up the ICW up to Charleston from Beaufort, South Carolina. Along the way we got o enjoy the company of dolphins playfully swimming along and a meandering alligator lounging in the middle of the channel.
Arrived at the Charleston City Marina just in time to anchor out, make some chicken fettucine alfredo and go out to Salty Mike’s for a couple of beers.
At Salty Mike’s we found ourselves among a crowd of onlookers as guys from the Wednesday night sailing races boxed with each other for everyone’s entertainment.
Our night took an interesting turn when we befriended a yacht captain, Scott, who generously invited us back to the yacht he was chartering up north. He was kind enough to make us drinks and share some stories with us of his experiences chartering boats for the rich and famous. Always a good night when you get free drinks and make new friends!
