Ocean City, MD

Jacob was kind enough to take us out to Ocean City, MD for the Dew Tour today. It was incredible watching all of the skaters and BMX riders that were there for the finals on the last day.  We got an early start on the 3 hour drive out to the beach from downtown Annapolis. He took us on all kinds of back highways and the scenery was awesome. There were farms, creeks, rivers and beach towns that we passed through on our way there.

The BMX arena was full by the time we arrived, but we were able to get insane seats for the bowl finals. Andy McDonald and Buckey Lesik along with a bunch of other incredible skaters from around the world were there. We watched the finals until the rain began to drizzle down on us and it was about time to leave anyway. We began the long walk back to the car but not before stopping at the famous Thrashers Fries.

 Thrasher’s Fries

The day was incredible with free admission to the events, tents and even free slurpees all day! There is only a couple of ways in and out of Ocean City and I found that out real quick on the ride home. The traffic was backed up for hours in every direction. We took every gravel and back road possible and it still took us almost twice as long to get back. A huge thanks to Jacob for being kind enough to drive. It felt great to go see some action for a change off the boat. Now I am stoked to get back down South and get into some waves this season.
