Hilton Head, SC to Cattle Pen Creek, GA

After our encounter with some rough seas the other day we took a break. Enjoying all of our time on land with showers, food and some grocery shopping.  It’s funny how after getting beat up pretty bad offshore you always say, “I’m not going back out there anytime soon”. Yup, well out we went this morning back into the ocean. A perfect day for a sail offshore knocking down lots of Georgia miles before heading into St. Catherine’s Sound. We had perfect conditions and really enjoyed the day overall.

We are trying to get down to St Augustine as quickly as possible since the boat needs a lot of work before heading South again. Our destination for the evening was Cattle Pen Creek. A great little anchorage right off the ICW in the seclusion of Georgia’s back country. Anchoring out so far from the cities is an incredible feeling. The night sky really comes alive and you can see for miles on end through a starlit skyline. I tried fishing for a good while with no luck while M.E. prepared some dinner and cleaned up down below.  Early to bed this evening so we can knock down some serious miles again offshore tomorrow.
