Santiago, Cuba

Our arrival in Cuba this afternoon has been much anticipated.  The views coming along the Southern coast were spectacular.  The following pictures describe the rest of our day entering the harbor.  We went through the entire check in process and were free to roam by late evening.
A local hinitero, male hustler, took us out on the town for dinner and to show us the sites.  Late night we ended up all the way in Santiago at a free concert of some Cuban rockstar.  It was quite the experience blasting around all over the city with 9 people in five seater cars and on the back of motoponchos doing 100+ mph through traffic.  Things are really already starting out on the right foot.  Late night we all went to the local beach for a few more cases of Bucanerro, local beer.  Everything was wrapped up around 5 AM and soon there after we were both passed out back on the boat.

  1. Caught up on your latest blogs … looks like you're living the life! We can't wait to get out there next year. We'd love to sail to Cuba, so we look forward to your upcoming posts about it … and your little incident you mentioned on Facebook. Glad you weren't “locked abroad”.
