During our sail to Atwood Harbor a pod of dolphins joined Kokoi for a little swim alongside the boat. It was definitely a highlight for me and a fishing killer for Matt. However, we did not need to worry about catching fish on that passage because the anchorage is loaded with them (more of the … Continue reading ACKLINS’ DIVING
We have arrived in paradise. The Bahamas has become a second home to Matt and a place to potentially live long term. Hard to imagine why. Could it be the crystal clear water? The welcoming Bahamians? The spearfishing? The snorkeling? The Kalik? The Rake n Scrape? The untouched surf areas? The places to kiteboard? The … Continue reading LOST TREASURE
Just another typical windy day down island. Kiteboarding, diving, napping, eating, and sunset beers with friends. We even got Kristen on the kite today for her first time. I must say I was mighty impressed. All was well for the first 15 minutes as I attempted to teach her how to maneuver the kite from side … Continue reading USUAL SUSPECTS
After a long easy sail across the Exuma Sound we pulled into Highbourne Cay to get some sleep for the evening. It was Joana's birthday, which I didn't find out till after dinner was over, so we stuck a couple candles in a brownie and celebrated for all of about 30 seconds. I've been thinking plenty … Continue reading BIRTHDAY TIME!
Started the day with breakfast from the best chef to have ever come out of Portugal, Joana. The usual morning meal consist of a pound bacon and a massive amount of fried potatoes with all the fixings. I figure doing this every morning is a good healthy meal to start off another day in the … Continue reading EXUMA BOUND
Just took the dinghy out onto the banks exploring today. Found a few random coral patches and blasted a few fish and lobster. The water clarity out here was amazing. The winds have been down for a few days and the conditions are just so perfect.
Guy came through once again with the major hookup. One of his friends runs a dolphin encounter place just outside Nassau on a private island for all the tourist and cruise ship patrons. We got the full behind the scenes tour for FREE. After adding everything up for this place I figured the tour, lunch, … Continue reading TOTAL BLAST!
We day sailed out to Rose Island for our last NOLA crew day. It was a blast filled with snorkeling, beach hikes, and bonfires. Its gonna be super hard to say goodbye to this super good crew but its the life of a cruiser. I'm pretty sure the pics will lay out this day well … Continue reading FUNDAY MONDAY
A typical morning meeting between Guy and I. The working of brains to discuss stock market moves, real estate opportunities, any new business ideas, and why of course retirement. Its always good to sit around and waste a few hours away with this guy.Seriously, Caucasian haircuts and executive grooming! What a deal.. I thought a … Continue reading Nassau, Bahamas
Nassau, land of... Cheap groceries. I really don't know what to say about this place. I've been here many times before but never on my own boat. I would consider this stop awash. A good place to provision, drop off/pick up friends, and the land of cheap marinas with UNLIMITED water. Guy and I got … Continue reading HIGH LIFE
